So I bought a bunch of cane from V. I. Reed & Cane Co. and made three baskets. There's lots of cane left over so I hope to make more, but these are the first results. I enjoy this craft a lot because you can make it up as you go along; no pattern needed once you know a very few rules.

I wonder how basket weaving would complement the circle-folding geometry curriculum (whose name I can't remember) we saw at the In Home Conference? Could these be tied in with the study of Classical Architecture to demonstrate principles of engineering?
